It’s power cannot be underestimated in my view. From influencing purchasing decisions to enhancing brand perception, a personalised approach is a game-changer across many industries.


It certainly made a key difference to my daughter's choice of university a few years ago. She was swayed by the personalised approach of a forward-thinking red brick university, which made her feel truly valued. In contrast, a standard cold offer from a top-rated UK university failed to capture her heart or attention.


Whist working for various schools over the past few years, I have embraced personalisation as part of our brand and communications strategy.  Leveraging on the latest technology we personalised prospectuses for every family, inserting names and appropriate imagery depending on the prospective child’s interests. The impact was undeniable – parents and children felt a sense of belonging, which resonated deeply with them. We were able to either print or send digital copies, so it worked for both our domestic and international clients. We then progressed to personalising welcome packs to continue the customer onboarding experience.


Installing a CRM was also key to our approach, enabling us to personalise communications at every stage of the sales funnel, to include targeted emails and

newsletters. This flowed through to the planning of our school tours, which were individually tailored to suit the interests and focus of each prospective family.


Many other schools have begun to or are adopting similar methods as more technical solutions are arising, resulting in standout marketing that resonates with families. Embracing digital formats and printing less brings added efficiencies, aligning with the preferences of modern parents and sustainability goals.
